Toughest Place to Be a Binman - The Return

London binman Wilbur Ramirez is heading back to Jakarta, capital of Indonesia, where 18 months ago he spent ten days living and working as one of the army of the semi-destitute binmen who collect rubbish in one of the biggest and fastest growing cities in the world.
During his stay Wilbur joined Imam Saffi on his back breaking daily round as he collected the rubbish of Jakarta's wealthy and discovered the poverty and squalor of life next to a fly-ridden tip. Since his return, Wilbur has raised money to help the Jakarta binmen, and now he is returning to see how he can help improve their lives. As his stay progresses, Wilbur uncovers some uncomfortable truths.

Perspectives: Jonathan Ross: Alfred Hitchcock - Made in Britain

Jonathan Ross examines the life and career of the most celebrated director in the history of cinema, Sir Alfred Hitchcock, in a quest for the British roots of his unique style. Jonathan is a huge fan of the Hollywood legend and finds out what led the son of an East End grocer to embark on a career in the film industry. He visits Gainsborough Studios where Hitchcock secured his first job at the age of 20, designing the captions which appeared on screen in the silent era - just five years later he was a director. Jonathan meets actress Jean Marsh, who starred in Hitchcock's penultimate film Frenzy, and hears what the great man was like to work with. On his return to his own childhood home in East London, Jonathan recalls how when he first saw the iconic Hitchcock movie Psycho it scared the life out of him.

Some women reveal they have suffered domestic violence ignored by these councils as campaigners say it is time to tackle the parallel legal system which can run counter to British law.

The Genius of Marie Curie

This docu-drama looks at the woman behind the science, revealing a tenacious mother who had to survive the pain of the loss of husband and collaborator Pierre and the public humiliation of a doomed love affair, but who also discovered two elements and coined the term radioactivity. Starring Geraldine James and David Malone.
