The Many Faces of Dame Helen Mirren
BBC 2, 8.00pm - 9.00pm
The Many Faces of Dame Helen Mirren is an entertaining and revealing journey through the career of one of Britain's best loved actors. She was a performer who frequently courted controversy in her younger years and who has retained a sensual aura in later life. Her portrayal of Jane Tennison in Prime Suspect revolutionised British crime drama and made her a household name but it was her Oscar winning performance as The Queen that propelled her to international stardom. In recent years she has balanced Hollywood commitments with a return to her first love - the stage.

Kids Lost in Care -  Panorama
BBC 1, 8.30pm - 9.00pm
Panorama investigates the standard of residential care for Britain's most vulnerable children. The results of a seven-month investigation reveal that thousands of young people are being exported to children's homes across the country, to care that is often not up to scratch, leading some to run away into risky situations. One of the young victims of the Oxford grooming case reveals her untold story of the abuse she suffered while living in residential care. The film also shines a light on the growing private market in children's homes, where there is little transparency, even though it is fully-funded by the UK taxpayer.

The Police's Dirty Secrets
Channel 4, 8.00pm - 9.00pm
Dispatches exposes the shocking story of Britain's secret police and how undercover officers reportedly used sex and lies to spy on members of the public.

Britain On Film
BBC 4, 8.00pm - 8.30pm
Throughout the 1960s, the Rank Organisation produced hundreds of short colour films on almost every aspect of British life. In a series reworking the best of this material to offer fascinating and often surprising insights into a transformative period of recent British history, this episode concentrates on the unprecedented upheavals in Britain's transport systems during a period when the popularity of air travel soared, rail networks were comprehensively dismantled and towns and cities were being reshaped to accommodate the unstoppable rise of the motor car.
