The Falklands Legacy with Max Hastings

Thirty years after the Falkland's War, journalist and military historian Max Hastings explores the conflict's impact and its legacy.
Hastings, who sailed with the Task Force in 1982 and reported on the Falklands campaign first-hand, looks at how victory in the South Atlantic revived the reputation of our armed forces and renewed Britain's sense of pride and its image abroad after years of decline as an imperial and military power.

The Unforgettable ... Molly Sugden

Family, friends and colleagues pay a touching tribute to one of Britain's finest comedy actresses, Mollie Sudgen, who died in 2009. Mollie became a well-known face playing Nellie Harvey in Coronation Street for more than ten years, before securing starring roles in sitcoms like The Liver Birds and Are You Being Served?. Her portrayal of the saucy Mrs Slocombe, who famously turned the air as blue as her rinse, made her a global icon.

The story of British rock band Queen, formed in 1971. The second half of this documentary sees Queen at the peak of their powers. With the ultimate showman in Freddie Mercury and a string of rock anthems to their name, Queen smashed attendance records with a series of stadium shows across South America.

Queen: the legendary '75 concert
BBC 4, 11.00pm - 11.50pm
On Christmas Eve 1975, Queen crowned a glorious year with a special concert at London's Hammersmith Odeon. The final night of their triumphant UK tour, the show was broadcast live on BBC TV and radio, and has become a legendary event in Queen's history.
